Free AutoResponder #1- EmailOctopus
If you’re trying to grow an audience on a budget, EmailOctopus may be perfect for you.
Hence, it’s one of the reasons why it’s first on my list because, I’m all about saving money wherever possible. Especially, when you’re first started out with building your blog.
Not to confuse you, but EmailOctopus offers two email products.
One is called “EmailOctopus” and the other product is called “EmailOctopus Connect.”
The difference is EmailOctopus is for anyone who needs an autoresponder. Therefore, it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner doing affiliate marketing or an advanced e-commerce marketer.
I’m sure you would like to know the difference between the two email products that EmailOcotpus has to offer.
EmailOctopus Connect is more for a techy, because it involves using Amazon Simple Email Service, which is also free. You will get up to 62,000 messages at no cost.
The part you should consider with EmailOctopus Connect is, it’s not free.
On the other hand, EmailOctopus is free.
In any event, EmailOctopus, hasn’t been around long but, they’re committed to help you save money.
Without the flashy marketing and expensive ads they’re able to keep cost at the minimal for all users, and provide you with the features that matter the most.
Either way they proudly welcome bloggers, authors, online stores, and charities without compromising on your deliverability.
With this 100% independent email marketing company, they’re dedicated to helping entrepreneurs, startups and small business owners grow.
Is EmailOctopus a great fit for you?
EmailOctocpus Free account comes with:
- Non-profit businesses receive a 20% lifetime discount
- Analyze and keep track of open rates, bounce rates, and clicks for 30 days
- Up to 2,500 subscribers
- Send Up to 10,000 emails per month
- EmailOctopus can’t send transactional emails
- You’ll need a plugin for WordPress or Zapier for other services
Unlike Aweber, EmailOctopus only counts subscribers that are on your list. Therefore, if any of your subscribers remove their selves from your list.
That person won’t be counted towards your total subscribers list.
One key feature about this company, that I find pretty impressive is, each month EmailOctopus, will review your account to ensure that you’re on the right plan.
And, if your account qualifies for a lower plan, guess what?
EmailOctopus will automatically adjust your plan and your following bill will reflect the new changes.
I think that’s an awesome deal! In fact, not too many email companies offer a service like that.
Free AutoResponder #2 – Sendinblue
If you’ve ever priced an email marketing course before, then you’ll know that they can range anywhere from $199 to $500.
Of course that price is dependent upon, who you receive the course from and where you take the course but, great news!
If you’ve been considering an email marketing course, what I’m about to tell you will save you $199.
Sendinblue has an email marketing course for beginners, all the way up to advanced marketers called Sendinblue Academy and it’s free.
You’ll also receive a certification that lasts for an entire year.
Most email marketing platforms do offer email marketing courses but they come with a steep price.
For instance, with Aweber you’ll pay $149.00 for their Email Marketing Master Class.
When I took the Aweber’s master class they offered a coupon plus gave out 45-email templates, which was a great deal.
However, Aweber doesn’t offer a free email account. Plus, to take this course you will need to setup an email account with them.
I’ve also taken GetResponse email course. I found Getresponse to be a bit misleading because, they offered a free 90 course which isn’t fully true.
After you join Getresponse for 30 days, and if you’re not finished with your email course, you’ll need to upgrade your account to a paid subscription.
Either way, with Getresponse you’ll pay $199.00.
The bottom line here is, with Sendinblue you’ll get a certification that can be added to your Linkedin profile, and added to your resume which can increase your career opportunities.
They offer their academy completely free and you don’t need a registered account to complete the course.
With Sendinblue you’ll be fully prepared on how to start email marketing and scale your business without running your subscribers off.
With SendInBlue Free account you will get:
Unlimited Contact storage on all plans
- Send up to 300 emails per day
- Live Chat box to connect with your visitors
- Rss to email
- Signup Forms
Free AutoResponder #3 – MailJet
If you aren’t new to email marketing and would like to experience a powerful marketing platform, MailJet could be the one that you’re looking for.
They have a high security standard with a strict sending policy, to ensure your emails land in your customers inbox.
In addition to this, MailJet offers on-site training tailored to your business upon request.
If MailJet is too robust, MailGun should be considered instead.
By using MailJet you’ll have to agree to follow their sending policy, their 7 commandments plus, spam laws.
There’s no credit card needed to sign up for the MailJet Forever plan.
With MailJet Free plan you’ll get:
- Store unlimited contacts
- Send up to 6000 emails per month
- Hosted on Google Cloud Platform
- Access to all tools & API
- Transactional & Marketing emails can all be handled within 1 account
Whichever happens, Mailjet was the first to become ISO 27001 certified, which means Mailjet takes privacy, spam, and security seriously.
Free AutoResponder #4 – ConvertKit
Over the past years I’ve seen ConvertKit go through many changes.
In fact, ConvertKit is one company that makes me feel like they have realistic people working there and not robots.
For one, they never had a free plan, and now they do.
The only entry plan that was offered would have cost you $25.00 per month for 1000 subscribers. You also needed a credit card to join. Plus, you had to verify your website.
Well, that has since changed.
Secondly, they publicly considered a rebrand because they felt like the name ConvertKit didn’t fit their core values.
Well, that made many people upset.
Most people loved the name ConvertKit, while others didn’t feel comfortable with the rebranded name that ConvertKit was choosing.
The name they was considering was “Seva” which ConvertKit soon discovered that to had a deeper meaning than what they initially thought, it’s sacred.
It’s also not a word that should be played with.
Needless to say ConvertKit has proved that you don’t have to be perfect in business. You just need to have the courage to take action and pushed forward.
Either way, they’ve apologized openly for any pain and confusion that they may have caused, and decided against changing their name.
With this in mind, the founder of ConvertKit Nathan Barry, started ConvertKit in January 2013, which was 100% bootstrapped.
With ConvertKit Freemium plan you’ll get:
- Up to 1000 subscribers
- Unlimited landing pages and forms
- Email broadcasts are allowed
- And no credit card needed
Free AutoResponder #5 – MailChimp
Besides Aweber or Getresponse, MailChimp is one of the most popular email marketing platforms promoted online.
If you plan on sending affiliate links through this email platform you may want to consider MailChimp’s terms and use page.
I added this autoresponder to this list because it does have a freemium entry plan.
Nevertheless, some marketers claim that MailChimp has worked for them, while others will bluntly warn you against using them because it’s too risky.
Either way, without a shadow of a doubt, you’re almost guaranteed to see them on someone’s list of autoresponders.
At one point, it states they don’t agree with affiliate marketing but they accept affiliate links.
If you can explain the logic behind this, please do update me within the comments area.
MailChimp Free plan comes with:
- Up to 2000 contacts
- Forms and landing pages
- Mailchimp domain
Either way, if you would like to join MailChimp check out the video below. It’ll help you setup your autoresponder correctly.
Free AutoResponder #6- MooSend
Do you feel like your email marketing platform is letting you down?
MooSend has a freemium account, and it requires no credit card to get started. You’ll just need a business email address.
In either case, Moosend offers many tools and resources to help you learn how to get the best out of your email marketing services.

Free AutoResponder #7 – Engage Bay
Do you need more than just an email marketing tool?
Recently founded in 2017, Engage Bay was created to be an affordable all in one marketing tool.
They’re built to help you save thousands of dollars from all the other sales and marketing tools that you use.
Engage Bay can help you save money because they offer many robust features all within one dashboard.
- Push Notification
- Live Chat
- Social Media Scheduling
- Sticky Bar
- A/B Landing pages
- Schedule Appointments
- And so much more
Even on their freemium plan, you’ll gain access to many features, Live Chat being one of them.
In addition to this you’ll have access to:
- 1000 Contacts and branded emails
- Send up to 100 emails per day
- Lead Grabbers
- Web Pop Ups
- SSL Landing pages
- Live Chat
- Social Suite
- 500 MB file storage
- Plus an onboarding session worth $1199 or you can set up a call and speak to an expert.
The bottom line is, Engage Bay offers many features that you could use somewhere within your business. The impressive part is they are truly affordable.
On the other hand, Engage Bay offers so much that it may feel overwhelming when you visit their site, especially for a beginner.
They don’t have training but, you can always take an onboarding session with a live representative.
